Introduction

The archaeological area of Knossos is referred to the capital city of the Minoan civilization (3000 - 1450 bc) and to the palace of Minoas King. The area of Knossos is 6km southern of Heraklion town. There, you can see the remains of the Minoa's Palace. The palace alone was almost an entire town, beside the king's chamber and the outdoors spa facilities there were also guesthouses, food storages, banquet halls and more. From architectural and artistic aspect the Minoa Palace is something unique in the entire world.

The Program

From 06:30 till 07:15 in the morning the bus will stop to all the pickup points to take all the passengers that will join the trip to Knossos.
At 07:20 in the morning all the passengers are on board, the bus is at the main station at Halydon Street in Chania city center and now everything is ready for the journey to start!
The first stop will be after Rethymnon in a tavern at Skaleta village. There, the stop will be for thirty minutes and if you want you can buy a coffee or even have complete breakfast. After this stop the bus will drive east for another 70km.

Approximately at 10:40 you arrive at Knossos archaeological area. At Knossos you will stay for 1 hour and a professional guide will give you a tour inside Minoa’s Palace.
After Knossos you will visit Heraklion town and you will stay there for 2 hours. If you want you can visit the archaeological museum of Heraklion or you can go for a walk to the city center. The archaeological museum hosts the most important collection of Minoan art.

At 14:45 the bus departs from Heraklion town. On the way back there will be another one stop to Rethymno town or to Panormo village to a tavern and you will stay there for 45minutes. At 18:00 you arrive back in Chania and before 19:00 you are back to your hotels.
