Maleme is a beautiful and historical village of Crete located 16kms of Chania and 3kms of Platanias. It is an ideal place for sun tanning and relaxing next to the sea and also a great place for holidays with a variety of things to do.

The beach,
The beach of Maleme is half sand and half pebble and it is part of the blue flag awarded beach from Chania to Kolympari. The beach is lifeguard surveilled and it is organized with sun beds and umbrellas. On the beach road there are many restaurants where you can enjoy your dinner or your drink next to the sea. If you want more extreme nightlife you can visit Platanias where there are many clubs and bars.  East of Maleme beach is the beach of Gerani where you can find the sea turtle Caretta Caretta.

The sightseeing,
 Maleme is a historical place with monuments and sightseeing from the Minoan era till Second World War. When you are in Maleme remember to visit the German War Cemetery, the ancient Minoan tomb and the orthodox church of Agiou Antoniou.
